Palestine’s Ministry of Higher Education announced in a statement on Thursday that Israeli forces were impeding students’ and teachers’ access to schools in the Tubas district of the northern West Bank.

The ministry said that “Israeli forces obstructed school days at a number of the local schools in Tubas” by irregularly closing the Tayaseer military checkpoint, which more than 45 teachers must cross to reach their classrooms.

The statement also indicated that the ministry’s office in the district had made its “utmost efforts” to help school teachers get through the checkpoint but that all its attempts thus far had failed.
