Classes suspended at Al-Quds University after a fight
Al-Quds University campus has been closed and classes suspended following a fight in nearby Abu Dis.
“Because of the events that happened near the campus in Abu Dis, the actions of some students who were drawn into it, and to preserve the safety and health of students, faculty and staff until the period of danger is over it was decided that the university will be closed until the morning of Saturday, May 9,” the university’s administration said in a statement.
The reason for the brawl is not reported, however student groups have announced that classes will be suspended for the rest of the week to avoid further violence, and the university has threatened to suspend classes for longer in the future if the events are repeated.
