A PALESTINIAN BOY HAS BEEN ARRESTED DURING A DEMONSTRATION IN SUSIYA

At-Tuwani – In the morning of 3^rd December, during a demonstration in Susiya organized by the inhabitants and neighboring villages a Palestinian boy has been arrested.

About fifty people, among men, women, children, Israeli and international peace activists, have walked with flags and slogans in praise of peace along a road blocked by the Israeli army. The work on improving the road by the Palestinians is considerate illegal under Israeli administration. The crowd arrived at the block of land that was hindering the passage and started working to clear the way, accompanied by the singing of protest from women and children.

With the arrival of the Israeli army many children walked toward the soldiers, singing and waving flags, making them back. After a while soldiers arrested a Palestinian boy who they claim to be guilty of having damaged a truck with a flag. In the attempt to prevent the arrest of the boy an international received an elbow on her face by a policeman.

The Palestinian boy grabbed by three police officers has been carried in a army van, which speeding in direction of a woman, who was standing in the path with the intend to stop the Jeep, risked to invest her. Furthermore in the action an elderly woman was yanked from a soldier.

This is one of the answers given by the South Hebron Popular Committee, as part of the nonviolent resistance strategy to the Israeli occupation.
