Cycling for Palestinian rights, that’s the message these peace activists are spreading as they cycle thousands of miles across mountainous terrain. Their mission “to raise public awareness on the Palestinian issue”.

Earlier this month The Right to Education Campaign at Birzeit University welcomed a group from Britain who have cycled from London to Palestine.

P.E.D.A.L. is a group of community organisers, artists, food growers and cyclists. They took to their cycles as they watched the international political community take no real action to stop the daily oppression and violence used by the Israeli government to maintain the occupation of Palestine; the continued construction of illegal settlements in the occupied territories, the illegal blockade on Gaza, and illegal construction of the Wall in Palestinian territory.

P.E.D.A.L believe these actions by the Israeli government add up to a systematic theft of land, water, time and space from the Palestinian people.

Throughout their journey they visited:

  • Grow Heathrow, UK
  • Calais Migrant Solidarity, France
  • Palestine Solidarity Collective & Reclaim the Fields, Brussels, Belgium
  • Wieserhoisl Collective Farm, Western Styria, Austria
  • Trbovlje, Slovenia
  • Ainfoshop, Metelkova occupied barracks, Ljubjana, Slovenia
  • Zadar, Croatia
  • Mostar, Bosnia
  • Pristine, Kosovo
  • Thessaloniki, Greece
  • Peliti, Greece
  • Xanthi, Greece
  • Istanbul, Turkey
  • Kalkim, Turkey

P.E.D.A.L have produced a short video, documenting their incredible journey which can be watched below and for more information on the journey you can visit their website here.
