Right to Education Campaign Supports Hunger Strikers at Ar-Ram

The Right to Education Campaign at Birzeit University joins the worldwide demand that the Wall Must Fall and expresses its solidarity and encouragement of the brave hunger strikers at Ar-Ram.

The Apartheid Wall violates every principle of humanity and threatens to divide and imprison the Palestinian population, with devastating consequences for Palestinian civil society and access to services, including education.

Birzeit University and other universities in the West Bank and Jerusalem are already feeling the destructive impact of the Wall. Their vital role as national institutions preparing future generations to shape and develop Palestinian society is under attack.

The Apartheid Wall cuts students and teachers off from their schools and universities and literally bulldozes through the educational institutions in its path. In Ar-Ram alone, the Wall threatens the educational future of over 7000 students who currently study in Jerusalem.

The Right to Education is being denied in this ongoing process of imprisonment and
ghettoization.
