RAMALLAH, (PIC)– The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) has extended the administrative detention of Dr. Mohammed Ghazal from Nablus for the third consecutive time.
The Ahrar center for prisoners’ study and human rights lashed out at the IOA for extending the detention of Ghazal, 55, for five more months, describing him as one of the prominent Palestinian academicians.
Ahrar said in a statement on Saturday that Ghazal, who was taken from his home on 12/7/2011, is one of the oldest professors in the Najah University.
It charged the IOA with targeting Palestinian academicians, noting that the IOA had six of them held in custody with the start of 2012 and released four later leaving Ghazal and Dr. Mohammed Salibi still in administrative detention, without charge.
