The Wretched of the Earth Talk Back: Vietnam, Algeria, the Spirit of ‘68 & Decolonizing the Curriculum
On the anniversary of Algeria’s liberation from 132 years of French colonialism and the loss of 1.5 million martyrs, scholars from Haiti, Palestine, Puerto Rico and Vietnam will focus on historical and urgent questions posed by Fanon’s classical text, The Wretched of the Earth.
We ask, in what ways does studying the Algerian struggle against French colonialism deepen our understanding of Palestinian resistance and the colonial strategies to delegitimize and demonize them?
Panelists will critically analyze the limits and possibilities of such comparative analysis.
